‎ ‎ ‎ Chinese New Year is the most celebrated festival for families around the world. It lasts for a week. The celebration is determined by the lunar calendar. It takes place around the new moon between January and February. This lasts about 15 days until the Lantern Festival. This year, the holiday starts on February 10th. The Chinese New Year is a holiday that follows the Chinese Zodiac, and we are on the year of the dragon. The Chinese New Year is ancient, and dates back to around three thousand, five hundred years old. It is believed to have started during the Shang dynasty, when they held sacrificial ceremonies to honor the gods in the beginning of each year.
