By Kelly

It’s February, many exams, tests, quizzes, and more are taking place or have taken place, like the midterms. Mental health is very important but forgotten in the midst of stress, preparations etc. Some people might become depressed, lonely, and stressed. Negativity has a significant impact on a person’s mental health as well as physical, emotional and social.
The negative thoughts can have unhealthy effects on your mental health as they could lead to depression, PTSD, anxiety attacks, or even worse, self-harm. People might mistakenly think that they don’t matter. They can feel isolated, a waste of space, they might question the reason for their existence etc. This can be worsened by PTSD as triggering things could bring back unwanted memories or thoughts. It could lead to anxiety attacks as the thoughts could be triggering or overwhelming for someone. If it gets really bad, some might this they are worthless, ugly and they might take it too far and harm themselves. This affects a person emotionally as they might become crueler, will act colder and will feel like nothing matters. These negative thoughts can affect them socially as they can also be more closed off and isolated. Unhealthy thoughts can cause massive physical effects like stress eating, lack of eating, anorexia, and other eating disorders. Your well-being is very important and you should try to stay fit and as healthy as you can be.
Your mental health is important, so make sure you express your thoughts in healthy ways. Never succumb to negative thoughts–it’s not healthy and those you hold dear will be affected by them. Remember, you matter.
