Merits and Demerits: Do You Understand The System?︱School
By David
With the end of the year drawing near, you may feel like you understand the basics of the merit system. If you behave well then get a merit, and have a terrible behavior get a demerit. It's the simple things that can cause you to get a merit or demerit in class, but what if it goes even deeper than that? What if your education is heavily impacted with this system? These questions are just some of the questions needed to fully understand the merit and demerit system. As you know, the more demerits an individual has the less enrichment activities are available. For example field trips: the most desirable thing for a class to obtain, if you have over a certain amount of demerits, you will be unable to attend the trip. A trip is something but how can that affect your education, having too much demerits can make you lose your graduation privilege and can affect your ability to get the highschool of you choice. Although these are just the basics you can ask someone like the guidance counselor and your teacher for more information on this system.
