The World Cup is popular and is known worldwide. The World Cup is a tournament full of great countries. They compete in this tournament for the title of best country. It is famous for its exciting plays and world class players. For example France who won 2018 and Argentina in 2022. France and Argentina are just two out of the many teams with brilliant players. Each country has to choose their best players from the country to be able to just make it into the world cup. Some examples, include, Argentina choosing Messi, France choosing Mppape or England choosing Kane. These players are chosen by their skill but also their background. Sometimes because of their background they have to compete against teammates from their clubs. For example, Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah they both play for Liverpool, but Van Dijk plays for Netherlands and Mohamed Salah plays for Egypt. So, sometimes best friends have to compete against each other for their country. Also, the World Cup can put a lot of pressure on players, if a player makes a mistake they will feel like they failed their country and the fans of the country will hold a grudge against the player. For example, Steven Gerrard made a mistake playing for England. After he made that mistake critics and the fans of England accused him of their lost and England getting kicked out of the World Cup. But then again the World Cup brings people together and can be full of joy. This is why the World Cup is famous and a tournament every player wants to win.
